The project for the Guggenheim design competition highlights the strategic points of the site and the program: the historical and social integration in the city of Helsinki, the creation of a link between the Tahtotominmäki park and the urban center.

The construction fits into the geometry of the historic center, which it captures with its open forms. The project is designed as a new island among all the islands contrasting with the orthogonal shapes of the buildings on the site. The project is in keeping with the 104m wide Helsinki grid. A green bridge wraps around the project housing the café, restaurant and bookstore under an opening to the sea. This course offers a magnificent view of the Gulf of Finland
